  1. Hello!
My name is Alex Gonzalez and I am about to apply for JET for the first time. I came to the conclusion about applying this past summer and was wondering if there is someone or maybe a few people I could talk with to hear their experiences while they were apart of JET? I have already made my decision on applying, but I would still love to connect to those who already went through that experience. I myself am working on my single subject credential, so going to Japan to teach sound like a fantastic idea.
Thank you! And I hope to hear from you soon.

  2. I am writing this letter on behalf of my son Demetrius Walker. Demetrius is a local Los Angeles student that is attempting to locate sponsorship to go to Japan as a Model United Nations delegate with his middle school. I am reaching out to local Japanese businesses and organizations in an attempt to help him reach his goal to attend this once in a life time experience in Japan. . My son attends Lawrence Middle school in the gifted and talented program. He maintains at least a 3.5 GPA, is working on his 2nd degree black belt, volunteers frequently in the local community and will be an Eagle Scout in Woodland Hills troop 22 with in in a year. He is simply an all around great 13 year old young man.

He has been working really hard to earn his way to Japan a MUN conference during spring break 2016. He has been tutoring, washing cars, holding yard sales and doing odd jobs to raise the $3292 needed. He has raised $1600 so far. He needs to reach is goal by early December of 2015 to be able to attend the conference. It would be truly a wonderful experience for him to represent Los Angeles as a delegate at the conference were he would get to discuss world social issues in Japan with kids from all over the world. I would be happy to supply you with a copy of his report card, local recommendations letters and program verification from his school if needed. You are also welcome to contact the school to verify this event as well.

Please check out his Go Fund Me site that he created and see if anyone from your organization can possibly help with any portion of the funds he requires. If you also know of any organization, business or individual that might be able to help please let us know.
