There will be Japanese language exercises along with many occasions for conversate-ing. As usual, this is a POTLUCK, so please bring something to share with the group

Jeremy and Jonathan, also known as Japan’s greatest gaijin Manzai troop, are leading a series of team-based Japanese Variety Show-style games and trivia.
6:30 – : After-party dinner on Sawtelle (TBD)
Allergic to grass but wanting to join in on the fun? Don’t worry, the fun’s just getting started. After the close of our Block Party, Nisia will be joining Manzai heroes Jeremy and Jonathan for dinner, followed by an autograph-signing and photo-op in Little Osaka.
JETAASC, FOJ’s (“Friends of JET”), and Pasona will be forming an official Fans in the Stands volunteer group to cheer on Team Nippon at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games 2015! With 7,000 athletes representing 177 countries, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games – which will take place from July 25 to August 2 – will be the largest sports and humanitarian event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games. This is a GREAT opportunity to give back to the Japanese community and support a really wonderful global event.
Our official date for cheering is Sunday, July 26th. We are still awaiting release of Team Nippon’s competition schedule that day for several events like soccer, gymnastics and judo, but plan to meet in front of the Bruin Bear at UCLA’s Bruin Plaza at 11 AM. We will be there for the majority of the afternoon until about 6pm, taking in the Olympic Village festival as well. We’ll be making “Go Nippon” signs and getting decked out in face paint to give us the look of a coordinated cheerleading team. Official JETAASC hats will be provided to all participants. Please come out and help us shout Ganbatte!
RSVP with your name and phone number if you are able to make the 26th by e-mailing Valerie Hwang at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank You!
